India beat Pakistan by 5 wickets to clinch ninth Asia Cup T20 title in Dubai

Dubai: India secured their ninth Asia Cup title after defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final of the Asia Cup T20 2025, held for the first time between the two arch-rivals in Dubai.
Winning the toss, India opted to field first. Pakistan’s batting faltered, and the entire team was dismissed for 146 runs in 19.1 overs. In response, India successfully chased down the target in the final over, losing five wickets along the way.
Chasing 147, India’s start was shaky. Abhishek Sharma was the first to go, scoring just 5 runs off Faheem Ashraf in the second over. Captain Suryakumar Yadav managed only 1 run before falling to Shaheen Afridi at a total of 10.
Shubman Gill followed, dismissed for 12 runs by Faheem at 20. Sanju Samson scored 24 runs before being removed by Abrar Ahmed at 77.
However, Tilak Varma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69 runs, guiding India to victory in the final over.

Pakistan’s Innings:
Pakistan’s opening batter Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 57 runs off 38 balls before being caught off Varun at a total of 84. Saim Ayub followed, dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 14 runs at 113. After his departure, Pakistan suffered a collapse, losing eight wickets for just 33 runs.
Among the middle order, Fakhar Zaman contributed 46 off 35 balls before being caught off Varun at 126, while Hussain Talat fell for a single run.
Salman Agha scored 8, while Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf were both dismissed without scoring. Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz added 6 runs each at the tail.
For India, Kuldeep Yadav claimed four wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Varun, and Axar Patel took two wickets each.
