India has been stripped of its rights to host the 2025 Blind Women’s T20 World Cup following its decision not to send its team to Pakistan for the ongoing men’s event due to ongoing issues with visa approvals and travel permissions.

The controversy arose when India refused to grant no-objection certificates (NOCs) to its team for participating in the ongoing Blind T20 World Cup in Pakistan.

The refusal led to a heated discussion among officials, with India’s stance drawing criticism. The country has previously faced similar issues, including the denial of visas for Pakistan's blind cricket team for the 2022 Blind World Cup.

As part of the decision, the WBCC also announced that neither India nor Pakistan will host any international blind cricket events until diplomatic tensions between the two countries are resolved.

The council emphasized that events will now be hosted at neutral venues to avoid visa and NOC issues that have previously hampered participation.

Additionally, the council confirmed the re-election of Syed Sultan Shah from Pakistan as the chairman of the WBCC.

In the ongoing Blind T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan secured a dominant 10-wicket victory over Nepal in the first semi-final at Multan Cricket Stadium, reaching the final where they will face Bangladesh.
