Two mountaineers, one from India and the other from the Philippines, have died while attempting to summit Mount Everest, the world's highest peak.

According to international media reports, 45-year-old Indian climber Subrata Ghosh died near Hillary Step after reportedly refusing to descend following his successful summit on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Filipino climber Felipe II Santiago, also 45, passed away in his tent at the South Col on Wednesday night due to exhaustion while resting.

The Nepal-based expedition company Snowy Horizon Treks and Expedition stated that both bodies will be retrieved and transported to base camp, and the exact cause of death will be determined after post-mortem examinations.
