Indian blind cricket team set to tour Pakistan for T20 World Cup

Amid uncertainty clouds over Indian team's participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy, the Men in Blue will tour Pakistan for the Blind Cricket T20 World Cup 2024 this month.

The World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) announced on Friday the schedule for the fourth edition of the Blind T20 World Cup, set to take place from November 23 to December 3.

The tournament will feature teams from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and hosts Pakistan.

The event will held across two cities, with Lahore hosting 15 matches, including the opening game between Pakistan and South Africa.

Multan will host nine matches, culminating in the semi-finals and the final. One of the most anticipated clashes will be between arch-rivals Pakistan and India, scheduled for November 25.

India has dominated previous editions of the Blind T20 World Cup, winning all three tournaments held in 2012, 2017, and 2022.

The fourth edition marks the first instance that the mega event is being held outside India.

Despite this, the Indian blind cricket team was the first to confirm its participation in this year's mega event.

Earlier, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla shared that the cricket governing body was still awaiting the government's approval regarding Champions Trophy.
