Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has expressed strong confidence in transforming the Pakistan Super League (PSL) into the world’s leading franchise cricket competition, saying the task is “not difficult” with the support of prominent cricketing figures.

Speaking at the PSL Roadshow held at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Monday, Naqvi outlined his vision for the league during a session attended by former captains Ramiz Raja and Wasim Akram, and moderated by PSL CEO Salman Naseer.

Asked about the league’s direction, Naqvi said his focus was clear. “To make this league [PSL] the world’s No 1 league. That’s the vision,” he stated. He added that with experienced cricket minds involved, elevating the PSL was an achievable goal. “With so many people around like Ramiz and Wasim, I don’t think it’s a difficult task, and I’m very much sure that we will make this league world No 1.”

Naqvi revealed he had received “amazing advice” from senior and current national players, including Babar Azam, Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. “This advice is worth implementing,” he remarked, noting that suggestions from both past and present cricketers would help shape the PSL’s future direction.
