Pakistan’s Hassan Ali earned the country’s third medal at the Asian Youth Games in Sama Bay, Bahrain, on Thursday after securing bronze in the beach wrestling event.
Competing in the 70kg category, Hassan defeated Tajikistan’s Idris Bakhromov 2-0 in the bronze medal bout. The young wrestler, who is trained by former Commonwealth Games champion Mohammad Inam Butt, had earlier lost his semi-final to Iran’s Sina Shokouhi.
His path to the medal included victories over Jordan’s Marafi Abdul Rahman and Tajikistan’s Bazaarzada in earlier rounds.
