Pakistan win bronze in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy after 8 years

After eight years of wait, Pakistan on Tuesday clinched the bronze medal at the Asian Champions Trophy after securing third place in the tournament.
Green Shirts secured the medal after defeating South Korea by 5-2 in the mega event.
Pakistan’s Hannan Shahid and Sufyan Khan scored two goals each, while Roman Khan hit the ball to goal, which led Pakistan towards another achievement in the game.
Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had to face a dramatic match against China in the semi-final.
The game drew in the estimated time of the first quarter, while China picked the lead in the second quarter, and it was equalised after Pakistan’s Ahmed Nadeem's goal.
The match was decided via a penalty shootout, resulting in China securing a spot in the final.
The final of the Asian Trophy title will be played between China and India today.
It is pertinent to mention here that India secured their place by defeating South Korea 4-1 in the second semi-final.
