In a deeply tragic incident, two of the five prematurely born quintuplets delivered at a private hospital in Karachi’s Baldia Town have passed away, the family confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the babies’ maternal uncle, both infants died while undergoing medical treatment. Funeral arrangements are currently underway.

The quintuplets—three boys and two girls—were born via cesarean section on Monday. Hospital officials reported that all five newborns were in critical condition at birth, suffering from severe respiratory distress and extremely low birth weights.

They were immediately placed on oxygen support in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Hospital authorities noted that the premature nature of the births significantly complicated the infants' health outcomes.

The remaining three babies continue to receive intensive care, as doctors monitor their condition closely and the family clings to hope for their survival and recovery.
