A Pakistani man showed his support for India’s women’s team during the recent ICC World Cup Final on Sunday. The cricket fan shared a video of his family singing the Indian national anthem at home along with the players on TV.
The man, dressed in Pakistan’s cricket jersey, was joined by a little girl standing beside him as they extended their support to the Indian team in the tournament’s finale.
He was seen singing the national anthem alongside the girl and his father, with their hands placed on their hearts.
The cricket fan praised the Indian team for excelling in the sport, highlighting their victories in the T20 World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy, Asia Cup, and the ICC Women’s World Cup.
“Many congratulations to Team India on becoming the Women’s ODI World Cup Champion,” he wrote in the caption of the video.
Mohammad Arshad described himself as a die-hard cricket fan. He was also seen in the video passionately singing the Indian national anthem.
Arshad expressed hope that Pakistan would one day revive its cricket glory but acknowledged that the Indian team remained steadfast and played according to the game’s requirements to secure the World Cup trophy.
After a turbulent start to the tournament, marred by three consistent defeats, the Indian team staged a spectacular comeback. They first ousted the seven-time world champion Australia in the semifinals by chasing a record target of 338 runs, and then went on to beat South Africa by 52 runs at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium to secure the title.
