Pakistan batter Babar Azam is being linked with Kingsmen Hyderabad ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 player auction, according to media reports.

Reports suggest that Peshawar Zalmi are unlikely to retain Babar Azam ahead of the upcoming auction, which is scheduled to take place on February 11. PSL 11 will mark the league’s first player auction, prompting speculation over the future of several marquee players.

Kingsmen Hyderabad, who will be making their debut in PSL 11, are reportedly emerging as strong contenders to secure Babar’s services.

According to reports, the franchise is considering signing Babar not only as a leading player but also as a potential captain to lead the team in its inaugural season.

Analysts note that appointing an experienced international batter as captain would provide a new franchise with both on-field leadership and commercial appeal. Teams in the PSL have historically built their identity around high-profile local players, particularly in their early years.

Hyderabad has already made moves ahead of the auction, reportedly securing left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem through a direct signing.

The transfer is said to have involved Peshawar Zalmi, further indicating the franchise’s early activity in the player market.

There has been no official confirmation from Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi or Kingsmen Hyderabad regarding the reports. With the PSL 11 auction approaching, greater clarity is expected in the coming days as franchises finalise their strategies.
