Punjab police fire over 100 cops for refusing duty during Champions Trophy 2025

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Operations in Lahore terminated 115 police officers for their refusal to fulfill security duties during the ICC Champions Trophy matches held at Gaddafi Stadium.
According to sources, some of the officers who were dismissed were absent, while others outright declined to undertake their security responsibilities or reported late for their shifts.
The list of those dismissed includes individuals such as Atiq, Zain, Ali, Sheeraz, Shan, Zubair, Adi, among others.
In preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025 matches, the Punjab Police have instituted rigorous security protocols.

A total of 12,564 officers and personnel have been deployed across Lahore and Rawalpindi, with 7,618 officers assigned to Lahore and 4,535 officers designated for Rawalpindi.
Furthermore, 411 members of the Special Branch have been appointed to provide assistance in both cities during the tournament.
