Dambulla: Sri Lanka set Pakistan a target of 129 runs in the first match of the three-match T20 series.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 128 runs in the final over, with Janith Liyanage top-scoring with 40.

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and elected to bowl first against the hosts.

All-rounder Shadab Khan returned to Pakistan’s playing XI. The line-up also included Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha, Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan.

The playing XI was completed by Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed.

Thanks to an impressive bowling display by Pakistan, Sri Lanka were dismissed for 128 in 19.2 overs.

For Sri Lanka, Janith Liyanage scored 40, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka made 18 runs each.

Pakistan’s bowling was led by Salman Mirza and Abrar Ahmed, who claimed three wickets apiece. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up two wickets each.
