New Zealand made it tough for Pakistan to chase a 179-target, defeating the latter by four runs in the fourth T20I played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday night.
Following the victory, the Kiwis took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series against the Green Shirts.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organised a fitness camp for the Pakistan team in collaboration with the Pakistan army to prepare players for the upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland and England, and the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies.
"The camp will focus on team building and aims to enhance the physical and mental strength of the players, ensuring they are in the best condition to face the challenges ahead. Under the guidance of experienced trainers and coaches, the players will undergo a comprehensive training regime tailored to elevate their fitness levels, agility, leadership and strategic thinking and overall performance on the field," the cricket body said in a statement.
The 29-member squad underwent tough 10-day drills at the Army School of Physical Training in Kakul.
However, the Pakistan cricket team still failed to clinch the victory for the country in the home series.
PCT fans took to the microblogging site X to express their dismay over the lackluster performance of Babar XI.
