A hijab-wearing British Muslim police officer, Ruby Begum, was terminated from her position after a 10-year-old social media post allegedly containing anti-Jews remarks surfaced.

According to The Telegraph, the 29-year-old Metropolitan Police officer, who joined the force full-time in 2016, faced disciplinary action for the outdated post.

The controversy surrounding Begum's social media activity began when a 10-year-old post surfaced, in which she wrote “Israel has no limits. Scumbags. I can’t wait for the day they get severely punished.”

The female cop gained recognition in 2020 for her viral photo confronting anti-lockdown protesters.

However, her past social media activity came under scrutiny in 2021, revealing over 25,000 posts made between 2013 and 2019.

The investigative panel deemed Begum's statements "hateful and prejudiced," concluding they fell short of police standards.

During the investigation, she admitted to the posts, labelling it "general misconduct".

However, the police officer argued the disciplinary action was excessive and demanded for a warning instead of termination.
