COAS, Trump call for peaceful resolution of Iran-Israel conflict: ISPR

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump emphasised the need for a peaceful resolution to the Iran-Israel conflict.
According to the military's media wing, discussions during their meeting included a detailed focus on the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
The high-level meeting took place over lunch in the Cabinet Room, followed by a visit to the Oval Office.
According to the ISPR, President Trump was accompanied by US Secretary of State Senator Marco Rubio and US special Representative for Middle East Affairs Mr Steve Witkoff, while Pakistan’s National Security Advisor also attended the meeting alongside Field Marshal Asim Munir.
During the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff expressed sincere gratitude to President Trump for his constructive and effective role in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India during the recent regional crisis.
Field Marshal Gen Asim Munir commended President Trump’s leadership and vision in addressing and resolving complex global challenges.
President Trump praised Pakistan’s continued efforts in promoting regional peace and stability, as well as the strong bilateral cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts.
The two delegations also explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade, economic development, minerals, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency, and emerging technologies.
This meeting marks an important milestone in the ongoing effort to strengthen the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the United States, one built on shared goals of peace, stability, and prosperity.
