Israeli strikes have knocked out five hospitals of services in Lebanon, announced the head of the Doctors Syndicate of Lebanon.
Youssef Bakhash made these remarks in an interview with Al Jazeera TV network on Wednesday, adding that 22 more hospitals have been damaged in the Israeli aggression on Lebanon after ruining Gaza.
He also noted that the Israeli regime is targeting everyone indiscriminately, and the regime's attacks have directly hit the healthcare sector. Several medical staff have been martyred, and hundreds more injured.
Head of the doctors syndicate of Lebnon further said that the Tel Aviv regime is deliberately targeting infrastructure and medical personnel to paralyze the health sector, and that Lebanon's healthcare system is currently in a dire situation.
He called on the occupying regime to adhere to international treaties and the Geneva Conventions.
The Israeli military launched extensive attacks on various areas of southern Lebanon on September 23, and these devastating assaults are still underway.
As of Tuesday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli attacks have left 2,546 martyrs, and 11,862 injured so far.
Earlier, Israel's army has confirmed the killing of Hashem Safieddine, Hezbollah's Executive Council head and likely successor to slain leader Hassan Nasrallah, in an attack three weeks ago.
According to a statement released by the Israeli army, Safieddine, Ali Hussein Hazima, the head of Hezbollah's Intelligence Directorate, and other commanders were among those killed in the strike.
