A viral video showed Iran's air defence system activating during Israeli strikes, intercepting several projectiles early Saturday morning.
The latest attack came after Tehran’s retaliatory airstrikes on Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) military bases.
Explosions echoed across Iran as Israel launched over 100 aircraft, including F-35 fighters, targeting "‘means of producing missiles."
Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that the sounds resulted from Iranian air defences shooting down Israeli projectiles.
The Israeli targets included Iran’s surface-to-air missile systems and other air defence capabilities.
“We carried out targeted and precise attacks against military targets in Iran, thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel,” an Israeli military spokesperson stated in a post on X.
The Iranian military confirmed that Israel had launched attacks on military bases across three provinces, which caused "limited damage" due to a swift response by Iranian air defences.

Iran fired around 200 missiles across Israel on October 1 in retaliation for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah's founding member Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and the assassinations of top IRGC military commanders.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Iran “would pay for its grave mistake,” promising a "strong response" to Iranian attacks.
Chief of General Staff for the Armed Forces of Iran Maj Gen Mohammad Bagheri also issued a stern warning, stating that if Iran faces any attack, it will target Israel's entire infrastructure.
