Pro-Palestinian supporters attributed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' defeat in the US presidential election to her refusal to condemn the genocide in Gaza and her continued support for Israel.
According to initial polling results, 78-year-old Donald Trump is projected to surpass the required number of electoral votes with 277, securing his position as America's next president.
Trump has already delivered a victory speech in Florida.
Kamala Harris, 60, trailed with 224 votes, missing the chance to make history as the first female president of the United States.
Throughout her campaign, Harris faced pressure from pro-Palestinian activists, who repeatedly urged her to condemn the Israeli military offensive in Gaza.
However, she stood firm, stating that "Israel has a right to defend itself."
Harris also expressed her commitment to continue military aid to Israel, even as over 43,000 Palestinians have been killed, with many others suffering starvation and lifetime injuries.
While Harris openly declared her support for Israel in response to pro-Palestinian criticism, Trump pledged to establish peace in the region without singling out Israel or Palestine.
Activists on X criticised Harris for her staunch pro-Israel stance.
During one campaign event, when supporters chanted pro-Palestinian slogans, Harris responded sharply, saying, "If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking.”

The Biden-Harris administration will go down in the dustbin of history as the one that funded and fueled a war of extermination against the Palestinian people in Gaza—all while masking it with empty gestures and rainbow flags. We will not forget. We will not forgive. pic.twitter.com/7hJ8xAf3Hb

Kamala lost almost all the university towns in Michigan… I wonder if tear-gassing all your student voters effected the election 🤔
