Gaza teacher uses sound of Israeli drone to teach children music

In a remarkable display of resilience, a teacher in Gaza turned the sound of an Israeli drone into a music lesson for children, showcasing yet another example of the defiance and bravery of Palestinians amidst the relentless Israeli military assault.

A video shared widely on Palestinian social media accounts shows the teacher holding a guitar in a classroom, teaching children a music scale.

In the video, as the sound of an Israeli drone grows louder, the teacher encourages his students to hum along with the drone’s tone.

“Wait for it to change the tone so we can shift to another one,” he tells the children, turning a symbol of fear into an impromptu music exercise.

The children, guided by their teacher, begin humming in harmony with the drone’s sound.

The heartwarming video touched the hearts of many, symbolising how Palestinians continue to find life, creativity, and resilience even in the most dire and deplorable circumstances.

However, the reality of the situation in Gaza is dire. Since October 7, Israeli military offensives have resulted in over 41,000 Palestinian lives lost, including 16,456 children and 11,000 women. 

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) directed Israel to ensure basic services and humanitarian aid delivery in the besieged enclave.

The Palestinian government's information office reported that almost 1.7 million Gazans have been displaced due to relentless air and artillery strikes by the Israeli military.

Thousands of children in Gaza have been diagnosed with malnutrition, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 45,936 with more than 109,274 w0unded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destr0yed buildings.
