Musk’s X had mostly recovered after complaints from thousands of X users regarding the social media platform across the world on Monday, according to Downdetector.com.

The problem arose shortly before 9 a.m. ET, with the number of problems in the US rising above 25,000 before dropping to about 620, according to Downdetector, which detects outages by compiling status reports from a range of sources.

Canada saw its numbers drop from over 3,400 to about 30, while issues in the UK dropped following a peak of over 9,000 problems earlier in the day, according to the website.

It should be noted that the number of affected users will likely vary from the figures posted since the data has been compiled from user reports.

The parent company SpaceX did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comments regarding the cause of the issue.

Earlier this month, X had faced outages in thousands of users in the United States and Britain, according to Downdetector.com.

According to Downdetector, the monitor for tracking outages via collating status reports from several sources, there were more than 23,210 reports of problems with X as of 8:24 a.m. ET (1324 GMT).

Downdetector also indicated a peak of 254 reports.

Global internet observatory NetBlocks said: "X (formerly Twitter) is currently experiencing international outages; incident not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering."

The actual number of affected users may differ from what's shown on Downdetector because these reports are user-submitted.
