The granddaughter of the political bureau chief of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, who was injured by an Israeli attack on Eid-ul-Fitr in Gaza, succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

Palestinian sources reported that Malak Haniyeh was severely injured in an Israeli airstrike that also claimed the lives of three of Ismail Haniyeh's sons, including Hazem, Amir, and Mohammed.

The attack targeted a car carrying the family while they were visiting relatives in Gaza's Al-Shati refugee camp on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on April 1.

Speaking to Arab media, the 61-year-old Hamas chief, who has thirteen sons, said, "The blood of my sons is not dearer than the blood of our people."

With sixty family members lost during the relentless Israeli onslaught over six months, he reiterated Hamas' demands for a permanent ceasefire and the return of displaced Palestinian families to their homes.

Refusing to yield until the demands are met, Ismail Haniyeh underscored that Israeli assaults would not alter their resolve.

The ongoing Israeli onslaugt commencing on October 7, 2023, after Hamas attack, has ravaged Gaza, resulting in the loss of at least 33,797 Palestinian lives and leaving 76,465 wounded.
