Hamas hands over body of another Israeli hostage to Red Cross

The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has handed over the body of another Israeli hostage to Israeli authorities through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

According to the Israeli military, the body has been transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv, where the identification process may take up to two days.

Israeli media reported that Hamas has so far returned the bodies of 16 hostages to Israel, while 12 more bodies remain in Hamas’s custody.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already granted permission to an Egyptian technical team to enter Gaza to assist in the search for the remains of deceased hostages.

An Israeli government spokesperson stated that the Red Cross and Egyptian teams have been authorized to cross the Israeli military’s “yellow line” to continue recovery operations for the bodies.
