Harvard is a 'joke' that spreads 'hate and stupidity': Trump

Former US President Donald Trump intensified his criticism of Harvard University on Wednesday, accusing the prestigious institution of promoting what he described as "hate and stupidity" while calling for an end to its federal funding.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, "Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive federal funds."

He further criticized the university for hiring what he called “woke, Radical Left, idiots and 'birdbrains,’” claiming it no longer deserves to be ranked among the world’s top institutions.

Trump has accused Harvard and other elite U.S. universities of fostering left-wing ideologies and tolerating anti-Semitism on their campuses.

Unlike other institutions that have faced similar criticism, Harvard has declined to adopt the hiring and admissions changes Trump has demanded, including the elimination of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

In response, the Trump administration has frozen $2 billion in federal grants and contracts earmarked for Harvard. On Tuesday, Trump also warned that the university could risk losing its tax-exempt status if it fails to comply.
