Hezbollah has taken responsibility for a missile strike on Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, located in central Israel.
The attack was reportedly in retaliation for the recent deaths of senior Hezbollah commanders in bombings involving pagers and walkie-talkies.
According to international news sources, Hezbollah launched a ballistic missile, identified as the “Qadr-1,” targeting Mossad's headquarters in Tel Aviv. Israeli military authorities confirmed the missile landed near the Mossad building, causing a fire, but reported no casualties or major damage.
Hezbollah, however, claimed that the missile successfully penetrated Israel’s advanced defense systems and hit its intended target, despite the strong technological barriers in place.
In a statement, Hezbollah said that the attack was a carefully planned response to avenge the deaths of its high-ranking commanders in Lebanon during the recent bombings.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military confirmed that earlier in the day, Israeli forces had destroyed a Hezbollah missile launcher in Lebanon, which had been used to fire ground-to-ground missiles.
