India suspended flight operations at 32 airports in northern and western states after Pakistan launched its retaliatory operation “Bunyan ul Mursoos” against days-long Indian aggression at midnight on May 9–10.

According to reports, flight operations have been temporarily suspended until May 14 at the following airports: Udhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Avantipur, Bhatinda, Bhoj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindan, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kundla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Kotla, Mandya, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai.

The notification stated that all civil flight operations at these airports will remain suspended for four days.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and other relevant aviation authorities have issued several Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), notifying the temporary closure of 32 airports in northern and western India for all civil flight operations.

This closure will be in effect from May 9 to May 14, 2025, with operations resuming at 05:29 IST on May 15th, 2025, due to operational reasons.

Airlines and flight operators have been advised to plan alternative routing in accordance with the current air traffic advisory.

The temporary closure is being managed in coordination with the relevant ATC units to ensure safety and minimise disruption.
