Earlier, Trump announced that India and Pakistan have agreed to a "full and immediate" ceasefire under US mediation.
After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate cease-fire,” he said. “Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
On Saturday, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the ceasefire agreement in an interview, adding that the ceasefire had been in place since 4:30 pm.
In the early hours of Saturday, Pakistan launched a retaliatory military operation titled ‘Bunyan um Mursoos’ following an Indian air strike targeting multiple sites in Punjab province, including Nur Khan Air Base, Shorkot Air Base, and Mureed Air Base with air-to-ground missiles during overnight operations between Friday and Saturday. However, the Pakistan Air Force confirmed that all strategic assets remained unharmed.
In response, Pakistan launched the indigenously developed Fateh-1 missile. It was dedicated to the memory of Pakistani children who were martyred in the Indian military assault on May 6-7.
