Indian armed forces rejected claims made by their own journalists that Pakistani drones had been spotted over the Samba area in IIOJK on Monday, just after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent speech about the ongoing conflict.

Senior Indian journalist Barkha Dutt accused Pakistan of deploying drones over the Samba region of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir following what she called Modi's “big speech” on the Pakistan-India conflict.

"Breaking – red streaks were seen and Pakistan drones (intercepted) have been sighted in Samba, Jammu. Is this Pakistan’s idea of a ceasefire? Are they trying to normalise drones? It’s quiet now, but was this some desperate response to the big Modi speech on Pakistan?" she posted on social media.

According to the Times of India, "Suspicious drone-like objects were reported over Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district around 9:30 pm during a blackout in the area."

However, Indian media later quoted security sources stating there were no drone sightings and the border was calm.

Pakistani media outlets  reported that Indian journalists were spreading disinformation about Pakistani drones being active in India and continuously accusing Pakistan of violating the ceasefire.

Dutt speculated that the alleged drone activity was a response to Modi's speech, but the Indian army clarified that no such drone activity was reported.

It should be noted that no Pakistani drones have crossed the border or the Line of Control (LoC).

During a press conference on Sunday, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry firmly stated, "Pakistan Armed Forces are not violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control.  He said we are a professional army and we strongly abide by the commitments we make and follow by letter and spirit the orders of the government."
