Raj Kumar Thapa, the Additional District Development Commissioner in the Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s (IIOJK), was killed in Pakistan's Operation Bunyan ul Mursoos on Saturday.
According to the report, Raj Kumar was a main facilitator of terrorist organisations that are being operated in IIOJK.
Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan ul Mursoos at the dawn of Saturday in response to continued Indian aggression, targeting high-value military and intelligence-linked and key strategic infrastructure across India.
Addressing a press conference, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the killing of Raj Kumar, stating: “Earlier this morning, Pakistan shelled the town of Rajouri, killing the additional commissioner Raj Kumar.”
“We have also observed overnight damage to property and injuries to civilians in Ferozpur and Jalandhar,” he added.
During a successful strike carried out under the operation, Additional Deputy Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa was killed in Rajouri, a district in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Intelligence sources claim Thapa, reportedly backed by the Indian government, was a known facilitator of anti-Kashmiri terror activities and had attended multiple high-level Indian military briefings.
Thapa was widely viewed by Kashmiri Muslims as a symbol of state repression and violence. His elimination marks a significant blow to Indian operations in the occupied region, Pakistani sources said.
In addition to the targeted strike in Rajouri, Pakistan's military reportedly destroyed several key Indian air installations, including the Udhampur, Adampur, and Pathankot air bases. These airfields were said to be instrumental in launching operations against Pakistan in recent days.
As part of a broader, multi-domain offensive, Pakistan also carried out a cyberattack targeting the electric grid of the Indian state of Maharashtra, leading to a complete blackout across major areas. Military sources further confirmed the successful disruption of an Indian military satellite, dealing a strategic blow to India’s surveillance and communications systems.
Pakistan’s political and military leadership has reiterated that the strikes were part of a measured and justified response to Indian aggression, emphasising that the country will continue to defend its sovereignty and the rights of Kashmiris with full force.
