Iranian forces confirmed the loss of four soldiers in Israeli airstrikes, according to an official statement.
The attack, carried out early on October 26, targeted Tehran, Shiraz, and Karaj in response to Iran's October 1 ballistic missile assault.
Iran reported that Israeli forces targeted military bases in Tehran, Alam, and Khuzestan, causing minor damage but claiming that reports of 100 Israeli warplanes involved were exaggerated.
Iran asserted that Israeli planes did not enter its airspace.
Additionally, Iran’s UN mission held the United States partly responsible for the attacks, claiming that Israeli jets took off from U.S. bases in Iraq.
Previously, Israel claimed that 100 fighter jets attacked Iran, striking 20 military sites.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the "aggressive Israeli action" as a violation of international law, U.N. charters, and national sovereignty.
It declared Iran’s right to defend itself under Article 51 of the U.N. Charter, urging regional and global peace-promoting nations to denounce the attack.
Earlier on October 1, Iran launched hundreds of missiles targeting Israel, which reportedly hit several Israeli airbases, causing damage to facilities.
