Iran receives new fleet of 1,000 drones amid tensions with US

The Iranian military has received a new consignment of 1,000 drones, a development being described as a significant boost to the country’s defence capabilities.

According to Iranian media, the drones have been handed over to various branches of the armed forces for use in line with operational requirements.

Reports said the move was aimed at further strengthening Iran’s strategic capabilities in view of prevailing security threats in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces said Iran would not compromise on its security under any circumstances and would respond swiftly and decisively to any act of aggression.

He stressed that Iran’s defence preparedness is not intended for aggression but for the protection of national sovereignty and security.

The military chief added that the induction of the new drone fleet has enhanced Iran’s defence strategy, reaffirming that the armed forces are fully prepared to counter all types of threats.
