Iran warns any US attack will be treated as ‘all-out war’

Iran has issued a warning that it will treat any military attack by the U.S as “all-out war”.

The warning was issued as a US aircraft carrier strike group and other assets move towards the Middle East amid rising tensions.

According to an Iranian official, Iran hopes that the military buildup in Middle East by the U.S is not meant to provoke a confrontation. However, he added that Iran’s forces are on “high alert” and prepared for the worst. 

“Any attack, limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it, will be treated as all-out war against us,” he emphasized.

President Trump responded to Iran’s threat by acknowledging an “armada” of US warships heading toward Iran but said he hopes force will not be necessary. 

Furthermore, an Iranian minister claimed that if attacked, Iran might target US-linked investments in the region signaling a possible expansion of war beyond battlefield, if provoked.
