The family of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, including his wife and children, were overcome with emotion as his body arrived at their residence in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
Haniyeh's wife, surrounded by her children and other family members, was seen weeping uncontrollably as the body of her husband was brought home.
A day earlier, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the funeral prayer of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, which was attended by thousands of men and women.
"We took all the determination and patience from you. My support, my world, my life, and my love, send greetings to all the martyrs of Gaza. Send greetings to the leaders, to all the martyrs of Gaza. The funeral prayer in Tehran was followed by the transfer of Haniyeh's body to Qatar, where his second funeral prayer will be offered at Imam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab Mosque in Doha today (August 2) after Friday prayers.
Haniyeh's family will bid their final farewell to him at Lusail Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
The 62-year-old Palestinian leader was killed in a missile attack on his residence in Tehran in the early hours of Wednesday, along with one of his bodyguards.
