Israel claimed it conducted airstrikes on Iran after a year-long planning effort. In this regard, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad also set up a base in central Iran and smuggled weapons systems and commandos into the country.
According to a senior Israeli security official cited by The Times of Israel, the operation was the result of extensive intelligence gathering, logistical planning, and the covert deployment of Mossad agents and special forces deep inside Iranian territory.
It also reported that the operation was conducted with the help of a drone facility that had been set up in the central area of Iran by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad near Tehran.
The Mossad official said that from the constructed facility, drones were launched overnight to strike surface-to-surface missile systems.
“These drones neutralised key missile sites poised to target Israel,” the official said, emphasising the strategic significance of the covert launch site inside Iranian borders.
Moreover, Israeli operatives reportedly smuggled advanced weapons systems into Iran hidden in civilian vehicles. These precision systems were used to target and dismantle Iranian air defence infrastructure, creating a corridor of air supremacy that enabled Israeli aircraft to carry out strikes with minimal resistance.
A third layer of the operation involved Mossad commandos deploying high-precision missiles near anti-aircraft installations in central Iran. These commandos reportedly operated undetected within Iranian territory, indicating a significant breach of Iran’s internal security apparatus.
The operations relied on “groundbreaking thinking, bold planning, and surgical operation of advanced technologies, special forces, and agents operating in the heart of Iran while totally evading the eyes of local intelligence,” the Israeli official added.
