Israel has ordered the international aid organisation Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières – MSF) to suspend its operations in Gaza.
Israeli authorities said the organisation failed to provide a complete list of its local staff working in Gaza, adding that without this information, MSF cannot be permitted to operate in the area.
According to Israeli officials, all aid organisations working in areas under Israeli control are required to submit full details of their personnel.
Failure to comply with this requirement, they said, would result in the suspension of humanitarian activities.
In response, Doctors Without Borders described the Israeli decision as a pretext to obstruct humanitarian work in Gaza.
The organisation said Israel is creating barriers to relief operations and forcing aid agencies into impossible choices.
MSF warned that the move could further worsen the already severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
