The Israeli military is planning a “serious and significant” response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on the country earlier this week, an IDF spokesperson said on Saturday.
Iran’s attack of some 200 ballistic missiles on the country – which caused some damage to air bases – will “have consequences,” he said.
Israeli officials have said all options are on the table – including strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Several officials have also warned that Iran’s oil facilities could be targeted.
Earlier, Iran said it launched the barrage in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and also Ismail Haniyeh, the former Hamas leader who was killed in Tehran in July.
Both Iran and Hamas blame Israel for Haniyeh’s killing. Israel has not commented on his death.
Earlier in the week, Iran warned earlier any response from Israel will lead it to attack again.
