Israeli airstrike on a UN school shelter in Deir Al-Balah killed 26 Palestinians on Thursday, leaving more than 50 others injured, including children who were rushed to Al-Aqsa Hospital for medical treatment.
Israel has repeatedly targeted UN shelters and refugee camps housing displaced Palestinians, under the pretext of targeting Hamas fighters, without providing substantial evidence to support these claims.
Scenes of helplessness and bloodshed unfolded in the aftermath of the attack, with children and adults drenched in blood and trembling with fear as they awaited treatment at Al-Aqsa Hospital.
According to Al Jazeera, thousands of Palestinian families had taken refuge in the targeted UN school.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued its advance in Jabalia, in northern Gaza, where displaced refugees have been trapped, and the infrastructure has been destroyed.
As per sources, the occupation army plans to isolate Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and Beit Hanoun from the rest of Gaza to tighten its control over the northern part of the Strip.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) also continued their raids in the occupied West Bank, killing at least four Palestinians, including a leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.
The Israeli army has intensified its attacks on the enclave despite the orders of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to cease military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 42,709 with more than 97,590 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
