Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian child and his father, Fadl Abu Alya (Abu Amer), after declaring the village of Al-Mughayir, northeast of Ramallah, a closed military zone for 48 hours.

Israeli forces imposed heightened restrictions in the West Bank this week amid an escalation of military raids and settler attacks.

Soldiers sealed the village’s only entrance, preventing residents from leaving or returning, and took over a home by forcibly removing its occupants, converting the building into a military post.

An Israeli military bulldozer later entered the center of the village as troops tightened their hold on the area. Leaflets were also distributed to locals, containing threats and warnings against what the occupation described as “obstructing security” or cooperating with so-called “hostile parties.”

According to the Palestinian Authority’s Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CRRC), Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,350 incidents of violence across the occupied West Bank last month, describing the situation as an “ongoing cycle of terror.”

CRRC head Mu’ayyad Sha’ban reported that Israeli forces were responsible for 1,584 of those attacks, which included physical assaults, home demolitions, and the destruction of olive trees. The governorates most affected were Ramallah, Nablus, and Hebron, where the majority of the violations were recorded.
