The widow of an Israeli soldier faced backlash online after recalling in her eulogy how her husband took pride in demolishing Palestinian homes in Gaza.
The comments have sparked outrage, with many condemning the glorification of violence and pointing to it as an example of how Palestinian suffering is dehumanised and celebrated within Zionist rhetoric.
Rut Azulai, who had been married to soldier Avraham Azulai for just three months, delivered the outrageous remarks during her husband's funeral. Avraham was killed in Gaza while participating in the Israeli military’s assault in the enclave.

The couple had been living on an illegal settlement and owned a farm built on occupied Palestinian land, according to reports.

"You were so happy with your mission," Rut said during her eulogy, surrounded by family members.
"When you came back from Gaza to sleep next to me, you would tell me how many homes you demolished that day, and how much progress you were making to end this war."
She went on to say that the war in Gaza must be ended by "conquering" the Palestinians, adding, “There is no room for pure evil.”
While discussing the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, she emphasised that Jewish families and children deserve a life of peace.

She also shared that the couple had planned to expand their farm once her husband "conquered" Gaza, referring to the besieged strip as “filthy.”
The remarks fueled backlash online, with social media users condemning the open celebration of destruction and dehumanisation of Palestinians.
Critics argued that such rhetoric reflects a broader pattern of extremist views within segments of Israeli society, including calls for genocide and forced displacement of Palestinians.

Remember the outrage over Bob Vylan’s words? Manufactured fury. Meanwhile, here’s actual genocidal language and open celebration of mass murder, but zero media coverage, zero outrage. This is how the media picks your enemies for you. https://t.co/jQXqTNwhmv
