Retired Israeli General Itzhak Brik once again sounded the alarm on Israel's deteriorating situation in Gaza, where the former has been committing war crimes for almost ten months.

Brik has written an article for Haartez, titled "It Is Not Hamas That Is Collapsing, but Israel".

In the opinion piece, he argued that Israel's strategy of repeatedly raiding the same targets in Gaza is counterproductive.

"If we continue fighting in Gaza by raiding and re-raiding the same targets, not only won't we bring Hamas to collapse, but we'll collapse ourselves," Brik wrote.

He noted that Israeli forces are growing weaker daily, while Hamas is replenishing its ranks with young recruits, aged 17 and 18.

Brik also highlighted the growing discontent among Israeli reservists, who are increasingly unwilling to be redrafted, and conscripted soldiers, who are exhausted and losing professional skills due to lack of training.

The retired general warned that "Israel's economy, international relations, and social cohesiveness are severely damaged by this war of attrition against both Hamas and Hezbollah."

He added that the Israeli military lacks the forces to fight a multifront war, sounding a dire warning about Tel Aviv's future.

Israel's military offensives in Gaza have resulted in devastating losses, with over 40,000 Palestinians killed, including 16,456 children and 11,000 women.

The United Nations (UN) reported that two-thirds of buildings across the Gaza Strip have been "damaged or destroyed." Israeli attacks have also killed at least 270 aid workers.

The restrictions on food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies have exacerbated the crisis.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) directed Israel to ensure basic services and humanitarian aid delivery in the besieged enclave.

The Palestinian government's information office reported that almost 1.7 million Gazans have been displaced due to relentless air and artillery strikes by the Israeli military.
