Malaysia has imposed a temporary suspension on all flights arriving from India until further notice.

The decision has also impacted flights under the Vande Bharat Mission, which were facilitating the repatriation of citizens between the two countries.

The Indian Embassy has confirmed that Malaysia has suspended air connectivity with India, and the ban will remain in place until further directives are issued.

Prior to Malaysia, several other countries including the UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Iran had also imposed entry restrictions on travelers from India.

According to Malaysian Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong, the decision was made following a meeting of the National Security Council, and it came into effect from Wednesday.

All domestic and international airlines, as well as airport operators, have been directed to strictly comply with the suspension.

To date, over 20 countries have either restricted or imposed stringent conditions on travelers arriving from India.
