Thousands of people across Bangladesh took to the streets in a powerful show of solidarity with Palestinians, denouncing Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza and calling for an immediate end to the violence.
The demonstrations, held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, and other major cities, saw people from all walks of life — students, political activists, religious scholars, and civil society members — unite in protest. Chanting pro-Palestinian slogans and waving Palestinian flags, participants demanded justice for the victims of what they described as “Israeli aggression and war crimes.”
Organized by various political parties and rights groups, the rallies were largely peaceful but emotionally charged. Many protesters carried banners reading “Free Palestine,” “Stop Genocide in Gaza,” and “Boycott Israel.”
Speakers at the rallies condemned the international community’s silence and Washington’s continued support for Israel, urging the Bangladeshi government to take a stronger diplomatic stand and work with other Muslim nations to push for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid access.
“Gaza is bleeding, and the world is watching in silence. As a nation that fought for its own freedom, Bangladesh stands with the oppressed people of Palestine,” one speaker said during a rally in Dhaka.
The nationwide protests reflect the deep-rooted support for the Palestinian cause in Bangladesh, where public sentiment has long been aligned with those seeking an end to the Israeli occupation.
The demonstrations also come amid growing global condemnation of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where civilian casualties continue to rise despite international calls for restraint.
Organizers have vowed to continue raising their voices until a permanent ceasefire is reached and Palestinian rights are restored.
