The home of former District Vice President Congress Haji Shahzad Ali was demolished by Indian authorities in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, after he staged a demonstration against blasphemous remarks about the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, ordered action against Haji Shahzad Ali and 150 other individuals after a large group of Muslims held a protest and clashed with the police on August 21.

Earlier, Hindu religious leader Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj allegedly made derogatory remarks against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) while commenting on the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. His video went viral on social media.

Mahant Ramgiri's remarks sparked tensions in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and received condemnation from Muslims across the country.

The Madhya Pradesh protesters had gathered at the City Kotwali police station to submit a complaint against Hindu religious leader Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj.

According to Indian media reports, Haji Shahzad Ali had gone to the police station to file a complaint against Maharaj.

However, due to a heated exchange with the authorities, the crowd turned violent and reportedly pelted stones at the cops.

In response, local police demanded action against the protesters from the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government.

On the morning of August 22, authorities arrived at Shahzad Ali’s residence, broke the lock, and began demolishing his property with excavators.

Meanwhile, no action has yet been taken against Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj.
