The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), with the support of Al-Khidmat Foundation, has dispatched the tenth shipment of relief goods to the Gaza Strip.
A press release by the Press Information Department stated that the aid departure ceremony took place at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport on Sunday.
The shipment will deliver 1,151 tonnes of essential supplies, including 40 tonnes of medical aid, through a chartered aircraft to Jordan, from where the aid will enter Gaza.
MNA Dr Darshan Punshi, along with representatives from NDMA and Al-Khidmat Foundation, attended the event.
“This initiative underscores Pakistan's commitment to supporting humanitarian causes and providing aid to those in need,” the press release read.
Meanwhile, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continue unabated, killing at least 28 people on Sunday. In the West Bank, Israeli forces' offensive raids have claimed more than 700 lives since October 7.
The Palestinian enclave has been devastated by relentless Israeli military strikes, with much of the infrastructure reduced to rubble, leaving residents in unlivable conditions filled with waste, sewage, and rainwater, contributing to the spread of disease.
Living conditions in Gaza have deteriorated beyond survival, as confirmed by UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Michael Fakhri, who recently reported: “Israel’s ‘starvation campaign’ in Gaza is killing more people than bombs and bullets.”
The findings of the report highlighted that the destruction of Gaza's food supply chain, agricultural land, ports, and fishing vessels completely cut off all sources of food for Palestinians.
“In turn, Israel then used humanitarian aid as a political and military weapon to harm and kill the Palestinian people in Gaza,” the report read,
While humanitarian aid is the last and final option for Palestinians, Israel's siege of the enclave is also depriving them of access to it.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 41,595 with more than 95,497 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
