A Palestinian man, who was recently released after spending several years in an Israeli prison, had an emotional and heartfelt reunion with his parents. However, he lost his father shortly after meeting him.

Ayham Sabah met his family for the first time since he was sentenced to 100 years in prison at the age of 14.

He was convicted of being involved in the stabbing of an Israeli soldier, who later died, and for wounding another occupation personnel.

Sabah’s parents were overjoyed to reunite with their son at Cairo airport, embracing him tightly as soon as he arrived. However, their joy soon turned to grief as Sabah’s father, who bowed to God in gratitude for seeing his son again, passed away shortly after.

The plight of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli captivity remains dire, with many spending decades behind bars without proper legal defense while enduring brutal torture.

Several captives recently released by Israel under a ceasefire agreement with Hamas bear horrific signs of torture and malnutrition, highlighting the harsh conditions they faced in detention.

On Thursday, Israel released 600 Palestinian prisoners, while Hamas handed over four bodies of Israeli detainees.

Among the freed prisoners were 22 minors and one woman. Of the 600 captives, 151 were serving life sentences, while 43 returned to East Jerusalem and the West Bank. However, 97 were sent into exile.

Meanwhile, Israel continues its military offensive in the occupied West Bank.

Under the ongoing "Operation Iron Wall", at least 40,000 Palestinians have been forced to evacuate from four refugee camps, Tulkarm, Nur Shams, Jenin, and Far'a in northern West Bank.

This marks the first time in history that Palestinians have completely evacuated these camps, which were originally established in the 1950s during the Nakba.
