An ordinary egg donated by a poor woman for the construction of a mosque in Illegally Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was auctioned for a whopping INR225,000 (approximately PKR752,312), it emerged on Tuesday.
As per details, the villagers of Sopore decided to collect donations for the completion of the mosque construction in the holy month of Ramadan.
The management of the mosque started a door-to-door campaign where a poor old woman among other things offered them an egg for donation.
The mosque committee put up all donations given by the woman for the auction.
Locals of the area said the egg was initially purchased by a man for INR70,000 and it collected almost INR225,000 after too many auctions.
The egg was purchased by Danish Ahmed, a Twelfth-grader student and the son of an IIOJK businessman.
