U.S. President Donald Trump has declined to sign the G7 summit communiqué, which calls for de-escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, according to international news agencies.

A senior American official confirmed that President Trump will not endorse the joint statement drafted at the G7 summit held in Canada.

The draft communiqué reportedly includes a clear call to reduce tensions in the Israel-Iran conflict.

Additionally, the document reaffirms that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons and asserts Israel's right to self-defense. It also includes a commitment to safeguarding the stability of energy markets and broader economic stability.

During a conversation with the British Prime Minister on the sidelines of the summit, President Trump reiterated that Iran should return to the nuclear agreement and emphasized the U.S. intention to ensure Iran does not develop nuclear weapons.

In a related move, President Trump has shortened his participation at the G7 summit and decided to return to Washington today to address pressing domestic matters.

The G7 summit began on June 15 and is scheduled to conclude today.
