Saudi Arabia announces strict penalties for performing Hajj without permit

The Ministry of Interior Saudi Arabia has announced strict penalties for violating regulations requiring permits for Hajj.
According to the ministry, individuals attempting to perform Hajj without a permit could face fines of up to 20,000 Saudi riyals, while those who provide shelter or assistance to unauthorised pilgrims may be fined up to 100,000 riyals.
The ministry stated that these restrictions will be in force from the 1st of Dhu al-Qi'dah until the 14th of Dhu al-Hijjah.
Additionally, individuals transporting visit visa holders to Mecca or other holy sites will also face penalties.
Those attempting to perform Hajj illegally may be deported and banned from re-entering Saudi Arabia for up to 10 years.
