The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah introduced a new Umrah policy for Ramazan, which typically sees a surge in pilgrims heading to Makkah's Masjid al-Haram for spiritual rituals.to ongoing COVID-19 challenges and the necessity of social distancing, stricter regulations are being implemented.
According to the ministry's recent announcement, individuals can only undertake one Umrah during Ramazan.
This decision aims to reduce overcrowding and ensure a safer pilgrimage. The policy will be enforced through Nusuk, the Saudi government's platform for Umrah permits. Attempts to apply for multiple permits will result in a notification of failure.
This underscores the government's commitment to public health and safety while maintaining the sanctity of the pilgrimage. By limiting Umrah pilgrimages, authorities seek to distribute spiritual opportunities more equitably among all prospective pilgrims.
