Saudi Arabia has revised its visa policies for travelers from 14 countries, including Pakistan, restricting the issuance of multiple-entry visas for business, tourism, and family visits.

The changes, which took effect on February 1, 2025, limit eligible travelers to single-entry visas valid for 30 days during the annual Hajj period.

The countries affected by the policy shift include Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.

Saudi authorities stated the new measures aim to curb unauthorized participation in Hajj and address instances of illegal employment.

In previous years, some individuals used business or family visas to stay in the kingdom and perform Hajj without permits or engage in unapproved work, straining resources and posing safety concerns.

The revised policy does not affect Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas. Officials emphasized that the decision supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by strengthening immigration control and streamlining the flow of pilgrims and visitors.

Travelers are advised to plan ahead, apply for visas early, and adhere strictly to the new rules to avoid penalties. Authorities have also urged pilgrims to register in time and update health and companion details for Hajj.
