The global influence of the acclaimed Turkish drama Kuruluş Osman has transcended borders — a woman from Scotland has embraced Islam after being deeply inspired by the series.

According to Turkish media, Julieta Lorena Martinez, a Scottish national, converted to Islam after watching Kuruluş Osman.

As stated by Turkish production company Bozdağ Film, Martinez developed a profound interest in Turkish history and Islamic culture after watching the drama, which ultimately led her to study the teachings of Islam.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Julieta Martinez shared that she began watching Turkish television series during the COVID-19 lockdown.

She said that the historical narratives and Islamic themes in the series impressed her so deeply that she started reading the Holy Quran, and nearly two years after she began watching Kuruluş Osman, she recited the Shahada and embraced Islam.

After her conversion, Martinez traveled to Istanbul, where she visited the Bozdağ Film sets, toured the Kayı tribe camp, and explored various filming locations from the show.

She described the experience as a “spiritual pilgrimage,” saying she felt a renewed sense of life and a deep love for everything she encountered.

Since its debut, Kuruluş Osman has gained immense popularity both in Türkiye and across the world, credited for its compelling storyline and high-quality production.

The drama portrays the foundation of the Ottoman Empire, Islamic values, and cultural heritage in a powerful and captivating manner.
